About The Event
The documentary ‘We Can Be Heroes’ (Directed by Mike Ramsdell) follows Detroit’s own Taylor “Machine Gun” Duerr, as he fights his way to a national boxing title inside the ring, while fighting the demons of his addiction and his battle with recovery outside of the ring. After the movie, Duerr will be present for a special Q&A about the movie, his life in Detroit, and his legendary boxing career.
This will be a FREE EVENT sponsored by ISAC/Ten16 Recovery Network, but RSVPing here is encouraged.
From Under the Hood Productions:
“Over 20 million Americans struggle with addiction - over 80 thousand of them will die from an overdose this year. Much like the successful awareness campaigns of AIDS, cancer, depression - our vision is to help eradicate the stigma of addiction and elevate our social understanding of this disease with understanding, compassion and hope so those who need help will be more likely to seek it, and those who can help will be more likely to provide it. Over the past few years Taylor has brought his story to thousands of individuals - both those struggling with addiction and those struggling to understand addiction. The reactions have been incredible.”
